Arrest of Two Women for Ganja Smuggling
Bolangir: On Thursday, authorities apprehended two women at the Balangir railway station for their alleged involvement in ganja smuggling, according to police reports.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) acted on a tip-off and intercepted the suspects just as they were about to board a train. A thorough search of their luggage uncovered 11 kilograms of ganja.
The individuals were identified as Shanti Devi, aged 45, from Jharkhand, and Yashoda Devi, 28, hailing from Uttar Pradesh. They were reportedly transporting the illegal substance from Bolangir to various locations outside the state.
The seizure took place under the supervision of Executive Magistrate and Additional Tehsildar-in-Charge Soumya Ranjan Raut. Following their arrest, the women were taken to the police station for further interrogation, as stated by officials.
