Allegations of Rape in Baramulla District

On July 28, in Srinagar, authorities reported the arrest of two individuals in connection with an alleged rape case involving a woman in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The police disclosed this information on Tuesday.


According to the woman's complaint, she had visited the area of Jalsheeri Drangbal with a male friend on July 25. During their outing, the two accused confronted them.


A police official stated that the suspects allegedly assaulted the woman and recorded the incident on video. The victim was only familiar with the suspects by their first names.


However, through the use of technical evidence and tips from informants, law enforcement identified the suspects as Shakir Ahmad Lone, a resident of Jalsheeri and a driver, and Mohammad Ashraf. Both were apprehended on Monday.
