Incidents at Darbhanga Airport

On Monday, two significant aviation incidents were narrowly avoided at Darbhanga Airport in Bihar. During the landing of SpiceJet flight SG115, which was arriving from Mumbai, one of the aircraft's tires burst. Fortunately, the pilot managed to maintain control of the aircraft, allowing approximately 150 passengers to disembark safely.

Following the incident, the emergency response team at the airport was activated promptly. A technical inspection of the aircraft commenced, and runway operations were temporarily disrupted.

Additionally, a technical malfunction in an Akasa Air aircraft further impacted the airport's parking capacity. As a result, an Indigo flight from Delhi had to be diverted to Patna.

Airport officials stated that comprehensive technical evaluations of both aircraft are underway. The planes will only be returned to service once they are deemed safe after the inspections.
