Trump Discusses Congressman Dunn's Health Challenges

During an event on Monday, President Donald Trump recounted a poignant story about Republican Congressman Neal Dunn, who had faced a dire health prognosis before receiving medical assistance from White House-affiliated doctors. Trump shared that Dunn, a representative from Florida, had been given a "grim diagnosis" that suggested he might not survive past June. Trump quoted House Speaker Mike Johnson, who confirmed the seriousness of Dunn's condition, stating, "OK, that wasn't public. It was grim, that's what I was gonna say... he's encouraged!"

Trump praised Dunn as a "great congressman" and revealed that Dunn had personally communicated the severity of his health issues to him, saying, "He called to say he is terminal. Really bad heart. Nothing they can do." Trump expressed his concern, noting, "That's bad. Because I liked him — and I needed his vote!"

Despite the bleak outlook, Dunn assured Trump of his support, stating, "He said, looks like June is the time — however long I live, I'm gonna be voting for you." Following this conversation, Trump reached out to the doctors at the White House, who promptly attended to Dunn. "Then I realized I have doctors in the White House," Trump mentioned.
