Trump Issues Ultimatum to Iran Over Strait of Hormuz

In a bold move, President Trump has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, threatening military strikes on its power plants if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened without conditions. This warning comes amid escalating tensions and follows Trump's claims of achieving military objectives against Iran. He expressed disinterest in negotiations, stating that Iran's military capabilities are severely diminished. As the situation develops, Iran has yet to respond to this latest threat, raising questions about the future of US-Iran relations.

Trump's Warning to Iran

On Saturday, President Donald Trump delivered a stern 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, cautioning that the United States might execute military strikes on Iranian power facilities if Tehran fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz unconditionally. In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump stated, "If Iran doesn't FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!" This warning comes amid rising tensions in the region and follows Trump's previous assertions that the US has met its military goals.

Earlier on the same day, Trump remarked that Iran was looking for a deal but expressed his disinterest in negotiations. He claimed, "Their leadership is gone, their navy and air force are dead, they have absolutely no defense, and they want to make a deal. I don't!" During a press briefing at the White House on Friday, he also minimized the likelihood of a ceasefire, stating that ongoing US actions had severely weakened Iran. "Well look, we can have dialogue, but you know, I don't want to do a ceasefire," he remarked. "You don't do a ceasefire when you're literally obliterating the other side. They don't have a Navy. They don't have an Air Force. They don't have any equipment. They don't have any spotters. They don't have anti-aircraft. They don't have radar. And their leaders have all been killed at every level. We're not looking to do that," he added.

The President has hinted that the conflict might be approaching its conclusion, mentioning that the United States is contemplating "winding down" its military operations in the Middle East. As of now, Iran has not publicly reacted to the latest ultimatum.
