Trump Dismisses Nuclear Options Against Iran, Emphasizes Economic Strength

In a recent press conference, President Donald Trump firmly rejected the idea of using nuclear weapons against Iran, emphasizing that such weapons should never be utilized. He highlighted the strength of the U.S. economy and its oil supply, noting a shift in shipping routes away from the Strait of Hormuz. Trump claimed total control over the Strait, stating that it remains closed to pressure Iran into negotiations. He expressed no urgency to resolve the West Asia conflict, indicating that military action remains an option if necessary. This stance reflects a strategic approach to U.S.-Iran relations amidst ongoing tensions.

Trump's Stance on Nuclear Weapons

During a press conference at the White House, Donald Trump firmly stated that he would not consider using nuclear weapons against Iran, asserting that such arms should never be employed by any nation. When questioned about the possibility of a nuclear strike, he criticized the inquiry as foolish, reiterating that nuclear weapons should remain off-limits for all.

Trump highlighted the robust state of the U.S. economy and its ample oil reserves, noting that numerous ships are now rerouting to the U.S. instead of passing through the Strait of Hormuz, as part of efforts to limit Iran's nuclear capabilities. He remarked, "We have this incredible economy... I informed JD, Marco, Howard, and Scott that we need to take a slight detour to ensure Iran is disarmed of nuclear weapons. A significant number of vessels are now heading to the United States, bypassing the Hormuz Strait... We are not facing an oil shortage... Currently, we are producing more oil than both Saudi Arabia and Russia combined... We are also importing millions of barrels from Venezuela," he stated.

Control Over the Strait of Hormuz

Trump Claims Control of Hormuz, Wants Lasting Peace

Trump asserted that the U.S. maintains "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz, intentionally keeping it closed to compel Iran into negotiations. He expressed his desire for a sustainable agreement, stating he is not in a hurry despite claiming notable advancements. "I have given them a chance. I want to secure the best deal possible. I could finalize an agreement immediately. If I were to leave now, it would take Iran two decades to recover, but I prefer a lasting solution... I can't disclose specifics, but progress will be made swiftly. The Strait will be reopened. For now, we have it closed. We control it completely," he elaborated.

He further explained, "They could have reopened it three days ago. They approached us, saying they would agree to open the Strait. Everyone was pleased except me. I responded, 'Wait a minute, if we open the Strait, they will earn $500 million daily.' I refuse to let them profit until a resolution is reached. I am the one keeping it closed. We have full control, and it will open only when a deal is made or something significantly positive occurs," Trump added.

No Urgency to Resolve West Asia Conflict

Under No Pressure To End West Asia Conflict

In another part of his address, Trump mentioned that he feels no urgency to conclude the West Asia conflict, claiming that the U.S. has already targeted most of its objectives and that Iran is under significant strain due to its oil predicament. He indicated that further military action remains a possibility if negotiations fail, while also noting that Iran has agreed to suspend the execution of several women following a request from the U.S.
