Trump Declares Victory Over Iran: A 10-Day Negotiation Window Opens
Trump's Bold Claims on Iran Conflict
Washington: President Donald Trump proclaimed that the United States has decisively triumphed in its military engagement with Iran, asserting that the nation’s military capabilities have been significantly diminished. He announced a 10-day period for negotiations before considering further military actions.
In a recent phone interview, Trump emphasized that the US military operations have effectively neutralized Iran's capacity for warfare.
"We have already achieved victory. From a military standpoint, we have completely won the war," he stated.
He explained that the military strikes were intended to thwart Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons, cautioning against allowing hostile nations to obtain such capabilities.
"You cannot permit a madman or a dangerous ideology to possess nuclear arms," Trump remarked.
The President elaborated on the extent of the US military operations, claiming substantial destruction of Iran's military assets.
"We have incapacitated their Navy, their Air Force... and most of their missile systems," he noted, adding that missile launch facilities and communication networks were also targeted.
Trump further asserted that US forces had disrupted Iran's leadership hierarchy. "We have eliminated their leaders... they are all struggling to maintain their positions," he said.
Despite his aggressive stance, Trump mentioned that he had consented to postpone further military escalation at Iran's request.
"They asked me... 'Could we have more time?'... so I granted them a 10-day extension," he explained, indicating that discussions were progressing positively.
He warned that failure to reach a satisfactory agreement would lead to renewed military action. "If they do not comply, I will target their power facilities," he stated.
Trump contended that the US intervention was crucial not only for national security but also for global stability.
"We are providing a significant service to the world," he claimed.
He also suggested that Iran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons prior to US intervention.
"Had we not acted... they would possess a nuclear weapon by now, and they would have used it," he asserted.
In light of domestic criticism, Trump dismissed dissenting opinions, highlighting what he described as robust support from his political base.
"The MAGA supporters are astute... they do not want a nuclear threat looming over them," he remarked.
He connected the military operation to the broader context of US strategic dominance, underscoring the superiority of the US military.
"We have the most formidable military globally... no one even comes close," he concluded.
