Trump's Bold Claims on Iran's Military Status

Washington: During a recent event at the White House, President Donald Trump proclaimed that Iran's naval forces have been completely obliterated, stating they are now 'at the bottom of the sea.' This declaration came as he honored the Navy Midshipmen, emphasizing the effectiveness of U.S. military actions against Iran.

At the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy presentation, Trump made sweeping statements regarding the ongoing military conflict, asserting, 'We’re doing extremely well in Iran.' He claimed that Iran had a navy just two weeks prior, but now it has been entirely destroyed, with 58 ships reportedly sunk in a mere two days.

Trump noted that U.S. forces encountered minimal resistance, declaring, 'It’s not even a contest,' and praised the strength of the U.S. Navy, asserting its superiority over any other naval force globally.

The president reiterated that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is a top priority for the U.S. government. 'We’re not going to let them have nuclear weapons because if they had them, they’d use them,' he stated, criticizing previous administrations for not addressing this issue sooner.

He described the scale of military operations against Iran as unprecedented, claiming that their naval, aerial, and radar capabilities have been dismantled. 'Their Navy’s gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft is all gone,' he emphasized, suggesting that Iran lacks a functional leadership structure. 'We want to talk to them, and there’s nobody to talk to,' he added.

Trump commended senior defense officials for their roles in these operations, praising Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Dan Caine for their exceptional performance.

He also referenced past military successes, including a swift campaign against ISIS, stating, 'He did it in less than four weeks; he defeated ISIS.'

The remarks were made during a ceremony celebrating the Navy Midshipmen football team, which Trump hailed for having one of the most remarkable seasons in Navy football history. He congratulated the team on their 11-2 record and their victory over Army, calling it 'truly a season for the ages.' Trump announced plans to host the players at the Oval Office and present them with medals.

Additionally, Trump signed an executive order designating the second Saturday in December exclusively for the Army-Navy football game, humorously noting, 'Nobody’s playing football… the only game that’s going to be played.' He acknowledged potential legal challenges but expressed confidence in winning those suits.

The president briefly addressed domestic issues, including media scrutiny and his stance on banning transgender athletes from competing in women's sports.

The ceremony was attended by military officials, lawmakers, former administration members, players, coaches, and academy leaders. In conclusion, Trump linked the success of the Navy Midshipmen to military service, stating that graduating players would soon become officers, reinforcing, 'We have the greatest military in the world.'
