Trump's Bold Claims on Economic Recovery and Border Security

Washington: President Donald Trump asserted that his administration has successfully reversed economic downturns and fortified the southern border, thereby restoring the nation's strength both domestically and internationally within the initial 11 months of his new term. He attributed the issues of inflation, migration, and global unrest to the previous Democratic leadership.

During a speech on Wednesday, Trump remarked, "Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I’m fixing it," emphasizing that inflation was at its highest in 48 years when he assumed office, making life increasingly difficult for countless Americans.

He criticized the Biden administration for what he termed an 'open' border, alleging that the nation was facing an invasion of 25 million individuals, including criminals and violent offenders, a scenario he vowed would never recur.

Trump claimed that his administration has brought about significant changes in Washington, stating, "Over the past 11 months, we have introduced more positive changes than any administration in American history." He noted his election victory as a landslide, with a clear mandate to tackle what he described as a 'sick and corrupt system.'

On immigration, he stated that for the last seven months, no illegal immigrants have entered the country, asserting that the U.S. has transitioned from being the worst to the best in border security without the need for new legislation. "We didn’t need legislation. We just needed a new president," he declared.

Trump also mentioned that his administration is actively deporting criminals, enhancing safety in urban areas, and diminishing the influence of foreign drug cartels, claiming that drug imports by sea and air have decreased by 94%. He stated that control of educational institutions has been returned to the states and proclaimed that the U.S. military is now the most formidable in the world.

In terms of foreign policy, Trump claimed to have resolved eight conflicts in ten months, neutralized the Iranian nuclear threat, and concluded the war in Gaza, thereby fostering peace in the Middle East and facilitating the release of hostages.

Addressing economic matters, Trump noted that prices which surged under the Biden administration are now declining. He highlighted reductions in car prices, gasoline, hotel rates, and airfares, mentioning that grocery prices are also stabilizing, with Thanksgiving turkey prices down by 33% and egg prices down by 82% since March.

He pointed out that wages are now increasing at a rate that outpaces inflation, with factory workers seeing an increase of $1,300, construction workers $1,800, and miners $3,300, while asserting that all jobs created since his return to office have been in the private sector.

Trump also announced a record $18 trillion investment influx into the U.S., attributing this to tariffs that encourage domestic manufacturing. He referred to tariffs as his 'favorite word,' arguing they are revitalizing industries, including artificial intelligence and automotive sectors.

He touted what he called the 'largest tax cuts in American history,' which include no taxes on tips, overtime, or Social Security, and introduced a 'Warrior Dividend' of $1,000 for over 1.45 million military personnel before Christmas.

On healthcare, Trump claimed to have negotiated significant reductions in prescription drug prices through a 'Most Favoured Nation' strategy, with cuts of 400%, 500%, and even 600%, announcing that these prices would be available starting in January via a new website, TrumpRx.gov.

He criticized the Affordable Care Act, labeling it the 'Unaffordable Care Act,' and pledged to redirect funds directly to individuals for insurance purchases while targeting excessive profits made by insurers.

Regarding energy, Trump declared a national energy emergency, stating that gasoline prices have fallen below $2.50 per gallon in many areas, with some states seeing prices as low as $1.99. He announced plans to open 1,600 new power plants within a year, which he believes will lower electricity costs.

Trump linked rising housing costs to immigration, claiming that mortgage expenses surged under Democratic leadership but are now down by $3,000 annually, with further reductions anticipated.

He noted that 'reverse migration' is currently taking place, alleviating pressure on housing and job markets, and asserted that all net job growth since his return to office has benefited American-born citizens.

In conclusion, Trump stated that the border is secure, inflation has ceased, wages are increasing, and America is once again 'respected.' He expressed enthusiasm for hosting the World Cup and the Olympics, as well as the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, urging Americans to view the coming year as the culmination of a 'national comeback.'
