Trump Claims Major Attack in Tehran Eliminates Top Iranian Military Leaders
Significant Developments in Tehran
Washington: Former President Donald Trump has asserted that a significant assault in Tehran has resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian military officials. He emphasized this claim on his Truth Social platform, stating that numerous top commanders from Iran have been eliminated. Along with his statement, he shared a video clip featuring loud explosions and the sounds of aircraft. However, Trump did not provide any additional details regarding the timing of this attack.
Moreover, Trump refrained from specifying which Iranian military leaders he was referring to. His announcement comes just as a 10-day ultimatum for an attack on Iran's infrastructure is nearing its end. He had previously warned that only 48 hours remained and threatened severe consequences for Iran if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened.
A Major Blow to Iran: Trump remarked on Truth Social that many military leaders, who had led Iran poorly and foolishly, have been eliminated in this massive attack in Tehran. Nevertheless, the White House has yet to release a list of the military leaders purportedly killed. If Trump's claims are accurate, this would mark a second significant blow to the Iranian regime since the onset of hostilities on February 28.
On the very first day of the conflict, the U.S. and Israel reportedly killed Iran's then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei was targeted at his office in Tehran, and on that same day, Iran's defense minister and top military commander were also reported dead.
Trump's latest assertion regarding the attack on Tehran coincides with ongoing operations by the U.S. military to locate a missing F-15 pilot. On Friday, Iranian forces shot down two American fighter jets, marking the first instance in nearly six weeks of conflict where U.S. aircraft were downed within Iranian territory.
