Trump's Assertion on Stopping War

Donald Trump has once again asserted that he played a crucial role in averting a war between India and Pakistan. He stated that the tensions had escalated to a point where both nations were on the brink of a nuclear conflict.

Previously, Trump has made various statements regarding ceasefires.

Trump: I Stopped the War, But Didn't Get Credit

In a recent interview, Trump praised his alleged involvement in the ceasefire, calling it one of his greatest achievements.

He remarked, "This is such a significant success for me, yet I will never receive credit for it. Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers, and at that time, the animosity was so intense that the next step was the 'N' word."

Clarification on 'N' Word

When asked if 'N' referred to nuclear, Trump confirmed, saying, "Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. It is one of the most dangerous words for the world. At that moment, missile usage between the two countries was increasing, leading to a tit-for-tat situation. I called them and suggested we could discuss trade to ease tensions."

Previous Statements on Ceasefire

Earlier, Trump had stated that he did not enforce a ceasefire but merely assisted in stopping the war.

He mentioned, "I don’t claim that I did it, but it’s clear that I helped bring the situation between India and Pakistan to an agreement. There could have been even more horrific attacks, as both nations had suddenly started launching missiles, but we managed to settle everything."

Trump's Comments on Tariffs

Trump reiterated that India is prepared to eliminate tariffs.

He stated, "India is among the countries that impose the highest tariffs, making trade nearly impossible. However, did you know they are now ready to cut their fees by 100% for the United States?"

On May 15, Trump also claimed that India agreed to eliminate tariffs.

Trump Announced Ceasefire

On May 10, Trump unexpectedly declared a ceasefire between India and Pakistan via social media.

He expressed, 'I am pleased to announce that after overnight discussions mediated by the United States, India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries for showing wisdom.'

However, India later stated that no mediation had occurred in the ceasefire.
