In a troubling context, two recent shootings in Maine and Houston have sparked intense criticism regarding the oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Since Trump resumed office, at least ten individuals have died during interactions with immigration agents. In the Maine incident, relatives of the officer involved reported a history of violent behavior, questioning the decision to allow him to carry a firearm.
