Trump Administration Officials Embrace Fermented Foods Diet for Weight Loss
Health Transformation Through Fermented Foods
According to a report from a leading news outlet, several high-ranking officials in former President Donald Trump's administration are adopting a diet focused on fermented foods, such as sauerkraut, to aid in weight loss. Notable figures participating in this dietary shift include Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Vice-President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
This diet, designed by Dr. Sean O'Mara, features items like sauerkraut, kimchi, and grass-fed steak, while steering clear of alcohol and sugary snacks. The report indicates that Kennedy was the pioneer in this dietary approach, subsequently motivating other senior officials to join in. However, the strong odors from some fermented foods have reportedly led to what the article describes as "domestic friction" in certain households.
Dr. O'Mara, while not disclosing specific patient identities, mentioned his preference for working with older individuals, citing a higher return on investment. He likened the process to rescuing a failing company. At a recent event in Michigan, Kennedy shared that he had shed 20 pounds after a month on the diet, noting that Vice-President Vance has also experienced visible changes.
The diet has sparked lively discussions among administration members, who frequently share tips during their White House meetings. Kennedy is such a proponent of the diet that he travels with sauerkraut, a habit his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, humorously recounted on a podcast. She described instances where he would ask her to carry sauerkraut in her handbag, which she found amusing.
Additionally, the diet has gained traction beyond the administration. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy revealed he decided to try it after observing Sean Duffy's transformation and inquiring about his regimen. McCarthy recalled his first encounter with Dr. O'Mara, who told him he was a severe case but remained optimistic about his potential. Since starting the diet, McCarthy has reportedly lost about four inches from his waist.
