Tripura CM Visits Family of Deceased Student, Promises Justice

Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha visited the family of Angel Chakma, a student tragically killed in Uttarakhand, promising strict legal action against the suspects. He assured the family of ongoing communication with Uttarakhand's Chief Minister and expressed condolences for their loss. The family seeks justice and has requested a fair trial in Delhi, emphasizing the need for impartiality in the investigation. Saha also mentioned efforts to support the victim's family, including job opportunities for the grieving relatives. This visit highlights the commitment to ensuring justice in this heartbreaking case.
 

Meeting with the Family of Angel Chakma

On Wednesday, Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, visited the family of Angel Chakma, a student from Tripura who was killed in Uttarakhand. During his visit, he assured them of strict legal action against the perpetrators. In a conversation with the media, Saha stated that he is in constant communication with Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding the case, ensuring that those responsible will face appropriate punishment under the law.


Assurances from the Chief Minister

Saha mentioned that he has had multiple discussions with Chief Minister Dhami, who assured him that no one involved in the incident would be spared. He noted that five out of six suspects have already been apprehended, calling the event a tragic occurrence and expressing his condolences for the victim's soul. Tarun Debbarma, Angel Chakma's father, shared that the Chief Minister has promised to seek justice for his son. He added that Dhami plans to speak with him when he visits Delhi, and expressed concern for his younger son, who is currently struggling mentally and is not very communicative. The Chief Minister also mentioned efforts to secure a job for him.


Call for Fair Investigation

Drishyamuni Chakma, the president of the All India Chakma Students Union, stated that the union has requested the Chief Minister to ensure a fair trial for the case in the national capital. He confirmed that the Chief Minister has promised to provide all possible assistance during the investigation. Chakma expressed concern over the lack of feedback regarding the ongoing trial in Uttarakhand and emphasized the need for the case to be held in Delhi to guarantee impartiality and neutrality in the CBI investigation. Additionally, they requested that Chakma's father be given a position in the Border Security Force in Agartala and that his son Michael be offered opportunities in the state government based on his qualifications.
