Tripura Chief Minister to Attend BJP Strategy Meeting for Upcoming Village Committee Elections

Chief Minister's Upcoming Visit to Delhi

Agartala, August 4 - Chief Minister Manik Saha is set to travel to New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in a crucial meeting with the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The focus of this meeting will be to devise strategies for the upcoming elections of village committees under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Senior party leaders are also expected to attend this gathering.


The elections for the 587 village committees, which fall under the TTAADC, are anticipated to take place in the first fortnight of September. This will mark the first time in a decade that elections for these committees will be conducted.


Saha informed reporters, “I am heading to Delhi to participate in an organizational meeting aimed at formulating the party's strategy for the village committee elections. However, I have not yet received the agenda for the meeting.”


Typically, such meetings focus on organizational decisions, and I will contribute accordingly,” he added. Abhishek Debroy, the president of the state BJP unit, and party general secretary Bipin Debbarma will also be present at the meeting. Debroy mentioned that the discussions will be limited to organizational matters and will be chaired by BJP National President Nitin Naveen.
