The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the passing of former fast bowler Shapoor Zadran at the age of 38 due to a prolonged illness. He had been fighting Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare immune system disorder, and was receiving treatment in the Delhi-NCR area for several months.

In a statement shared on X, the ACB expressed its sorrow, stating, "With profound grief and deep sorrow, the Afghanistan Cricket Board mourns the passing of former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran."
