Transforming Lives: A Free School Initiative in Bareilly
A Beacon of Hope for Underprivileged Children
In the city of Bareilly, located 250 kilometers from the capital, a small initiative is making a significant impact on the lives of many underprivileged children. A free school operating under the shade of trees in a temple complex has become a ray of hope for children from impoverished families. This noble effort is led by Jyoti Thakur, a B.Ed graduate, who is dedicated to providing education without any fees, guiding these children towards a brighter future.
Jyoti's Journey and Dedication
Jyoti Thakur, who has lost her parents, has faced numerous challenges while managing her family's responsibilities. To support her family, she teaches at a private school. After completing her school duties, she conducts free coaching sessions for needy children in the temple area. Despite the exhaustion from her daily routine, her enthusiasm for teaching is evident as she educates 120 children without charge.
Community Support and Impact
Jyoti is joined in her mission by Mohini, a resident of Itoa Sukdev, who assists in teaching the children. Together, they not only focus on academics but also instill discipline and good values. The local community appreciates their hard work and dedication. The free school attracts children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom have parents working as laborers or in low-paying jobs, making it difficult for them to afford expensive tuition.
Reviving Interest in Education
In this temple school, children study on the ground, yet their aspirations are high. Jyoti and Mohini teach in a simple manner, ensuring every child comprehends the lessons. They encourage students to ask questions and express themselves freely. Residents have noted a significant change in the children's focus on studies, with many now regularly attending school and showing a serious attitude towards their future.
An Inspirational Example Amidst Struggles
Jyoti's life has been filled with struggles. After losing her parents, she faced many hardships but refused to let her circumstances define her. She is determined that financial difficulties should not hinder any child's education. This commitment drives her to return to the children every day, imparting not just academic knowledge but also life lessons about perseverance, the value of time, and good behavior.
A Small Initiative with a Big Impact
The school in the Kareli area has become a model for others. Local residents have started contributing to this noble cause, providing notebooks, books, and pens for the children. Jyoti believes that education is a fundamental right for every child and that no child should be deprived of learning due to financial constraints. Her dream is for children from poor families to receive quality education and make their families proud.
A Light of Education in the Community
In a time when many focus solely on their own lives, Jyoti Thakur and Mohini serve as inspirations for society. The light of education they are nurturing in the temple courtyard is illuminating the lives of many children.
