Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident. A representative from the Eastern Railway indicated that an investigation into the cause of the derailment has been initiated.
The accident occurred late Saturday night at approximately 11:25 PM between the Lahaban and Simultala railway stations, which falls under the Asansol division of the Eastern Railway. This incident has affected the operations of around 24 trains, causing considerable inconvenience for travelers.
