Heartbreaking Wedding Ceremony
In a poignant incident from Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, a wedding took a tragic turn, leaving everyone in shock. While joyous wedding bells were expected to ring, the atmosphere turned somber with cries of grief. Amidst this sorrow, a groom made a heartfelt commitment to marry his bride. After being discharged from the hospital, he arrived in an ambulance to fulfill his wedding vows.
Ankit Pandey, a resident of Bhitiya village in the Pakhri police station area, was set to marry Pramila Tiwari from Majhawa, Bansdih on May 8. The family was immersed in wedding celebrations, singing auspicious songs. On Friday, Ankit and his younger brother Sarvjeet went to a nearby salon for a shave, unaware that their joy would soon turn into mourning.
Returning home, a school bus collided violently with their motorcycle, resulting in severe injuries for both brothers. They were rushed to the trauma center at Ballia District Hospital, where Sarvjeet tragically succumbed to his injuries. The news of his death shattered both families, plunging the once joyous household into despair.
Wedding Ceremony Amidst Grief
With Sarvjeet's body present, Ankit lay in a hospital bed. Despite the overwhelming sorrow, both families decided to proceed with the wedding as planned. After obtaining permission from the doctors, Ankit was transported in a vehicle to the bride's home. Unable to stand or sit, the priest began the Vedic rituals inside the vehicle. Lying down, Ankit filled Pramila's forehead with vermilion, officially making her his wife.
Tears filled the eyes of every villager and guest witnessing this scene. While wedding rituals were being performed, the grief of losing a brother loomed large. Attendees could only pray that no one else would have to endure such sorrow and experience a wedding under such tragic circumstances.
