Tragic Wall Collapse in Moradabad Claims Life of Young Girl
Moradabad Wall Collapse Incident
A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a six-year-old girl lost her life due to the collapse of a wall and slab from a neighboring under-construction house. This tragic event took place on Tuesday evening in the Ambedkar Nagar area while children were playing near their homes as usual.
Reports indicate that construction was underway at a house owned by an individual named Ankit on Gopalpur Road. Around 7:30 PM, while several children were playing nearby, a dilapidated wall and part of the slab suddenly collapsed. The scene turned chaotic as the children screamed in panic. During this incident, Rohit's six-year-old daughter Radha was trapped under the debris, while the other children managed to escape unharmed.
Family in Shock After the Incident
Upon hearing the children's cries, nearby residents and family members rushed to the scene to attempt to clear the rubble, but it was too late. Radha was retrieved from the debris, but she had already lost her life. The family is devastated by this tragedy. Rohit, originally from Patraua village in Chandosi, was living here with his family and working as a laborer. Radha was the daughter of his deceased brother Jugnu, whom he was raising as his own child.
The entire area is engulfed in grief and anger following the incident. Local residents have accused the construction workers of gross negligence, stating that construction was being carried out in a densely populated area without any safety measures in place. There were no barricades or safety barriers, which contributed to this unfortunate accident.
Police Action and Safety Regulations
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and took possession of the girl's body for post-mortem examination. The local police have stated that strict legal action will be taken against those responsible based on the family's complaint and technical investigation report.
According to the regulations set by the Moradabad Development Authority and the municipal corporation, obtaining a blueprint approval is mandatory before any construction work begins. Additionally, safety nets, tin sheds, and barricades must be installed at construction sites to protect nearby residents. Furthermore, the quality of construction materials must comply with the standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards, and periodic inspections by authorized engineers are required.
