Fatal Incident in Kannur District

On Saturday, a truck transporting a concrete mixer overturned near Mutharikkulam in the Kannur district of northern Kerala, resulting in the deaths of two migrant workers and injuries to 13 others, according to police reports.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Bishwajit Das from West Bengal and 35-year-old Krishna from Uttar Pradesh. Authorities stated that both men were part of a group returning to their residence in Shreekandapuram after completing a concreting job at a house in Kunathur.

The accident occurred as the truck was descending a hill in Mutharikkulam, where the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The truck collided with an electric pole before overturning. Tragically, both Das and Krishna were trapped beneath the truck and died at the scene. Police have registered a case regarding the incident and have initiated an investigation.
