Ranchi: A tragic accident in Jharkhand's Khunti district resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including three children and three women, after they were struck by a speeding 18-wheeler truck, according to police reports on Friday.

The incident occurred on the Karra-Torpa main road within the jurisdiction of the Karra police station late Thursday night.

Khunti Superintendent of Police, Rishabh Garg, confirmed to a news agency that, "Seven individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries after being run over by an out-of-control speeding truck."

He further stated that six victims died at the scene, while one succumbed to injuries during hospital treatment.

The deceased included three women, three children, and one male.
