Devastating Incident in Nalanda District

A tragic event unfolded in Nalanda district, Bihar, on Tuesday, where a stampede during worship at the Sheetala Temple resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, with an equal number sustaining injuries. This incident occurred in Magra village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Deep Nagar police station.

Upon receiving news of the tragedy, police officials promptly arrived at the scene alongside local residents to initiate rescue and relief operations. Images from the site depict a large crowd gathered within the temple premises. This incident echoes a similar tragedy from last year at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh, where a stampede during the auspicious day of Ekadashi led to the deaths of nine devotees, predominantly women and children, and left 13 others injured.
