Tragic Shooting Incident at CRPF Camp in Assam Claims Lives of Two Soldiers

Shooting Incident in Nagaon District

In a distressing event at the Katimari CRPF camp located in Nagaon district, a CRPF personnel reportedly opened fire on his colleagues, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers. Following the incident, the shooter took his own life. The deceased have been identified as SI/GD Ramanwal Singh Yadav and HV/GD Vishnu Prasad Baghel. Additionally, the shooter has been named as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI/GD) Ballani Premabaram. Another injured soldier, identified as ASI/Mane Govind Shripul, sustained serious injuries during the shooting, which occurred around 7:30 AM within the premises of the 34th Battalion CRPF camp.


According to local police, the incident was reported to them, prompting a swift response. ASP (Crime) Abotani Dole confirmed that four individuals were affected by the gunfire. Tragically, two soldiers died at the scene, one succumbed to injuries at the hospital, and another was transported to Guwahati for urgent medical care.
