Tragic School Van Accident in Rajasthan Claims Life of 15-Year-Old Student
Fatal Collision in Banswara District
On the morning of July 29, a tragic incident occurred in Banswara district, Rajasthan, where a school van collided with a truck parked by the roadside, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old student and injuries to several others. Authorities confirmed the details of the accident.
The deceased has been identified as Ayaan Vasuniya, a resident of the Housing Board Colony in Banswara. Reports indicate that the van, which was transporting students from a private school, crashed into the stationary truck, leading to significant damage.
According to police, more than six children sustained injuries in the accident. Following the incident, District Collector Indrajeet Singh arrived at the scene with senior police officials to assess the situation.
Injured individuals were transported to the district hospital for treatment. Officials noted that a seriously injured student, Rudra Nema (16), has been referred to Udaipur for advanced medical care. Singh visited the injured students and assured their families that necessary actions would be taken.
He stated, 'A thorough investigation will be conducted, and strict action will follow.' The police reported that the van driver fled the scene, and efforts are underway to locate him. Initial findings suggest that the van may have been operating in violation of safety regulations, prompting an ongoing investigation.
Authorities have initiated a sub-divisional magistrate-level inquiry to determine the causes of the accident, and a case has been registered.
