Fatal Road Incidents Linked to Heavy Fog

In Shahjahanpur district, two separate road accidents caused by thick fog led to the deaths of two individuals, while five others, including four police officers, sustained injuries. This information was confirmed by a senior police official.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Dwivedi reported on Saturday that on the Bareilly-Farrukhabad road near Khairpur intersection, two trucks collided due to the dense fog, resulting in one person being injured.

The SP explained that the driver of the last tanker and another tanker driver were conversing while standing between the tankers when a truck approaching from behind crashed into them. This collision trapped both drivers between the tankers, leading to their immediate deaths.

The deceased have been identified as Rajpal (55) from Sambhal and Naseem Ahmed (52) from Bijnor, both of whom were tanker drivers. In a separate incident, a police response vehicle (PRV) was en route on Mailani Road when it overturned into a deep ditch while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle at the Dhan Singh turn, resulting in serious injuries to four police personnel.

Authorities have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations, while the injured individuals have been admitted to the government medical college for treatment.
