Fatal Road Incidents in Jharkhand

In the last 24 hours, Jharkhand has witnessed a series of road accidents resulting in the deaths of eight individuals, with several others injured, as reported by officials on Friday. A particularly devastating incident occurred on the Barhet-Badhwar main road, where a collision between an auto-rickshaw and an oil tanker led to the deaths of four people, including a schoolgirl.


According to Nitin Khandelwal, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Badhwar, the auto-rickshaw was en route from Barhet to Badhwar when it collided head-on with the tanker coming from the opposite direction.


The deceased have been identified as Samra Sah (30), Randani Soren (30), six-year-old schoolgirl Shanti Hembrom, and the auto-rickshaw driver, Amal Kumar. An official noted that the driver of the oil tanker fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.


Injured individuals were transported to the community health center in Ranga for treatment. Another accident in Dumri village of Palamu district resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to two others when a motorcycle skidded off the road.


Manoj Kumar Jha, the SDPO of Lesliganj, confirmed that the deceased were identified as Manoj Turi (26) and Prem Bharti (25). Additionally, a motorcycle rider lost his life in Ranchi on Thursday night after being struck by a speeding car near a petrol station at Birsa Chowk.


The deceased was identified as Vivek Kumar Tirki, according to Digvijay Singh, the officer in charge of Jagannathpur police station. In another incident in Godda district, a collision between a car and a truck on the Bhantoda highway under the Poraiyahaat police station jurisdiction resulted in one young man's death and another's injury.


DSP J.P.N. Chaudhary from Godda reported that three individuals were in the car, with 27-year-old Niranjan Mirdha from Haripur, Godda, losing his life, while the driver sustained serious injuries. The third occupant escaped without any injuries.
