Tragic Road Accident in Rajasthan Involves Ethanol Tanker Fire
Severe Accident on National Highway
A significant road accident occurred late at night on a national highway in Rajasthan when a tanker loaded with ethanol overturned, igniting a massive fire. The flames quickly spread approximately 200 meters, engulfing the entire highway in fire.
Tragically, the driver of the tanker perished in the blaze, while his brother managed to escape by jumping out just in time.
Eyewitness Accounts
According to witnesses, the tanker was traveling at high speed when it suddenly lost balance and flipped over. As the tanker overturned, the ethanol spilled out, and a spark ignited a fierce fire. Due to ethanol's highly flammable nature, the fire escalated rapidly, with flames visible from a distance.
Emergency Response
The accident caused chaos on the highway, prompting nearby individuals to alert the police and fire brigade. Firefighters arrived on the scene and worked diligently to control the blaze, but by that time, the tanker had been completely consumed by flames.
Casualties and Traffic Disruption
Authorities reported that two individuals were in the tanker; the driver was unable to escape and succumbed to the fire, while his brother jumped out in time to save himself. The injured brother was transported to a hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
The fire resulted in a significant traffic jam on the national highway, with vehicles lined up on both sides. For safety reasons, police temporarily halted traffic until the fire was extinguished and the road cleared.
Investigation Underway
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and loss of vehicle control were contributing factors. Officials emphasized the importance of adhering to safety regulations for vehicles transporting flammable materials to prevent such incidents.
