Heartbreaking Incident in Kurnool District

A devastating incident has emerged from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, where a severe collision occurred between a Bolero vehicle and a truck near Chilkaldona. This tragic accident resulted in the deaths of at least eight pilgrims, with an additional 10 to 12 individuals suffering serious injuries and currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. According to initial reports from the police, all the deceased and injured were residents of the Chikkamagaluru region in Karnataka. They were returning from a visit to the Mantalam temple when their Bolero collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so intense that the Bolero was completely mangled.

Rescue Operations and Medical Assistance

Upon receiving news of the accident, local police quickly arrived at the scene to rescue those trapped in the wreckage. The injured were promptly admitted to the government hospital in Emiganur. The police have registered a case and are investigating whether the crash was caused by speeding or driver negligence.

Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the families of the victims. He also instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.

Fatal Accidents in Telangana

Earlier on Monday, police reported two separate road accidents in Vikarabad district of Telangana that resulted in the deaths of four individuals. In the first incident, three members of the same family lost their lives when a truck collided with their motorcycle in the Peddaemul mandal early in the morning. The victims—a husband, wife, and their daughter—were traveling towards Zahirabad around 6 AM when the accident occurred. Their son, who was also with them, survived with minor injuries.

Authorities stated that the collision happened when an oncoming truck struck their vehicle, proving fatal for the three family members.

In a separate incident under the Yalal police jurisdiction, a police constable lost his life while on duty. Reports indicate that his motorcycle fell into a water-filled pit near an under-construction bridge. Officials noted that while a warning sign was present at the accident site, proper barricading was lacking, which may have contributed to the incident.
