Tragic Road Accident Claims Two Lives in Sambalpur District

Fatal Collision on National Highway 53


Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred in Sambalpur district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others when their vehicle collided with a road divider before crashing into an oncoming truck, according to police reports on Sunday.


The accident took place on Saturday close to Laldukhai village along National Highway 53, which is under the jurisdiction of the Burla police station. A police spokesperson noted that the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged.


Local residents promptly intervened, rescuing the four individuals from the car and transporting them to VSS Medical College and Hospital (VIMSAR) in Burla. Unfortunately, medical staff pronounced two of them dead upon arrival.


The victims have been identified as Manish Yadav and Subrat Sahu. The injured, Saurabh Gupta and Akash Pattnayak, are currently receiving medical care at the facility.


Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
