Fatal Incident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
Jaipur: A tragic road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has resulted in the death of renowned businessman Vallabh Maheshwari, Managing Director of Shakun Group. The incident occurred on Sunday evening (March 8, 2026) in the Raini police station area of Alwar district, Rajasthan.
At 62 years old, Vallabh Maheshwari was traveling in his luxury BMW car from Jaipur to the religious site of Giriraj Ji (Govardhan) in Mathura. According to police reports, the vehicle lost control near chainage 136.8 on the expressway. The high-speed car crashed through roadside barricades, crossed the median, and collided violently with a bridge wall. The impact was so severe that the BMW, valued at approximately 2 crores, was completely wrecked and overturned.
Maheshwari sustained critical injuries in the accident, while the driver suffered minor wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. With the family's consent, his body was transported to Jaipur without an autopsy.
Vallabh Maheshwari was a prominent figure in Jaipur's advertising, media, and industrial sectors. He held directorial positions in several companies under the Shakun Group and was well-respected in the business community.
This incident raises further concerns regarding road safety. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the causes of the accident, considering factors such as speeding or potential mechanical failure.
