Tragic Road Accident Claims Life of Indian Student in Kazakhstan

A tragic road accident in Oskemen, Kazakhstan, has led to the death of an Indian student, Mili Mohan, while two others were injured. The Indian Embassy is actively involved, providing support to the affected families and ensuring medical care for the injured. This incident follows another accident earlier in January, highlighting ongoing concerns for the safety of Indian students abroad. The Embassy is coordinating efforts for the repatriation of the deceased and offering assistance to the families during this difficult time.
 

Accident in Oskemen Involves Indian Students


Astana: A tragic road accident in Oskemen, Kazakhstan, has resulted in the death of an Indian student, with two others sustaining injuries, as confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.


According to a statement released on X, a group of 11 students from Semey Medical University were returning from an excursion to the Altai Alps when the incident occurred. The deceased has been identified as Mili Mohan, aged 25, while the injured students are Ashika Sheejamini Santhosh and Jaseena B.


Both injured students are currently receiving treatment at City Hospital No. 1 in Ust-Kamenagorsk, and their condition is reported to be stable. The Embassy expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and is maintaining communication with the university, hospital staff, and the families involved.




Earlier, the Indian Embassy reported another tragic incident where two Indian students lost their lives and three others were injured in a road accident near Almaty on January 6.


In a statement on X, the Embassy expressed deep sorrow over the loss of two young lives and the injuries sustained by others. They extended condolences to the affected families and assured that the injured students were receiving necessary medical care.


The Embassy is actively coordinating with local authorities, hospital staff, and other relevant parties to provide assistance. Family members of the injured students have arrived in Kazakhstan and are in close contact with the Embassy, which is also facilitating the repatriation of the deceased students' remains to India as a priority.


The Indian mission has expressed gratitude for the support and prayers from friends and family, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring effective communication and assistance during this challenging time.
