Fatal Accident During Rath Yatra in Sikula Village

Berhampur: A devastating incident unfolded in Sikula village, located within the Purushottampur police jurisdiction in Ganjam district, where a young man tragically lost his life during the Rath Yatra festivities. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Shibaram Behera.

Witnesses reported that Behera slipped and fell beneath the moving chariot. One of its large wheels tragically rolled over him, inflicting critical injuries. Local residents quickly came to his aid and transported him to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Purushottampur for urgent medical care. He was subsequently referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while en route.
