Lucknow witnessed a shocking murder-suicide incident on Thursday that has left the city in disbelief. Manas Bajpayee, an employee at SBI, allegedly killed his wife, Divya Mishra, who worked as a relationship manager at ICICI Bank. Following the tragic event, Manas returned home, where he also took the life of his sister before committing suicide, resulting in three fatalities.

The incident unfolded around midday when Divya was at her workplace. Manas arrived and called her outside the bank. After a brief conversation, the situation escalated tragically. Divya was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Manas fled the scene and returned to his rented accommodation near Husadia Chauraha.

Upon reaching home, he reportedly murdered his sister, who was said to be mentally ill. Subsequently, he took his own life. Neighbors discovered both bodies after breaking down the door, finding a TV playing devotional songs in the background.

After the incident, Manas updated his WhatsApp status, claiming he killed his wife due to infidelity. He also mentioned his sister and his own suicide in the post, which police are now investigating.

Reports indicate that Divya and Manas had been married for approximately 12 years but had been living separately for the past year. Divya had filed for divorce, and family disputes and jealousy are believed to have contributed to this horrific event. Divya was the sister of well-known YouTuber and journalist Pragya Mishra, who expressed her sorrow on social media regarding the incident.

Authorities have initiated an investigation at the scene, reviewing CCTV footage. Senior officials, including the ADC, have arrived to oversee the situation. The police confirmed that all necessary legal actions are being taken, and neighbors have noted that Manas had exhibited unusual behavior in recent times.
