In a shocking incident, a woman was murdered by her lover who broke into her home and strangled her before fleeing the scene. The police launched a manhunt and apprehended the suspect, Aslam Ansari, also known as Aslam Khan, during a confrontation later in the evening.

The accused, a resident of Sikandar Pur Patti, confessed to the crime during interrogation, admitting that the murder occurred following a dispute. He is set to be presented in court on Friday and will be remanded to custody.

The incident took place in Baldevpuri, located in the Katghar area. The victim, a mother of four, lived with her family. Her husband reported that she attended a wedding in a nearby village on Wednesday.

She had informed him that she would stay overnight due to the cold weather and return home comfortably the next morning. Around 7:30 PM on Wednesday, she called her husband to inquire about a charger.

Shortly after, she called again, stating that she would not return home that night due to poor road conditions and would come back in the morning with someone.

The husband learned of his wife's murder the following morning from her brother. Upon returning home, the children revealed that Aslam Khan had been visiting their home for the past year and had threatened them if they opposed him. He arrived at their house that night, locked the children in a room, and took the wife upstairs.

The children heard their mother’s voice until around 9 PM, but they could not go upstairs due to the locked door. The next morning, they called out for her but received no response.

Concerned, the children opened a window and called for help, prompting a neighbor to unlock the door. When they reached the upstairs room, they found their mother lifeless beside the bed. The suspect had already fled the scene.

Upon receiving news of the murder, the local police chief, along with forensic teams, arrived at the crime scene. Initial investigations confirmed that the woman had been strangled, a finding corroborated by the autopsy report.

In the meantime, two teams were dispatched to locate the suspect. Later that evening, police received information that he was attempting to escape.

The police tracked him to a precise location, where he opened fire upon seeing them. In response, the police returned fire, injuring him in the leg. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, and a firearm and motorcycle were seized from him.
