Incident Overview

Faridabad, August 5 - A 21-year-old named Amit, accused of murdering a teacher, had plotted the crime nearly two months prior and specifically purchased a knife for the act, according to police reports released on Wednesday. During the investigation, it was revealed that Amit had been searching for an opportunity to attack 28-year-old Sandhya Sharma for quite some time.

Details of the Attack

According to authorities, the assault occurred on Monday, where Amit reportedly stabbed Sandhya over 27 times in the neck and chest, resulting in her immediate death. A video related to the incident has circulated on social media. Police noted that Amit had feelings for Sandhya, but she did not reciprocate.

Previous Complaints and Motive

Sandhya had previously filed a harassment complaint against Amit, after which he had apologized. Investigators indicated that Amit was angered after Sandhya changed both her school and residence. On the day of the incident, Amit arrived at the school in Sikrona around 9:30 AM and allegedly called Sandhya out of class using her husband's name.

Arrest and Investigation

As soon as Sandhya stepped outside, Amit attacked her. Police apprehended him within two hours of the assault, and a local court subsequently placed him in three days of police custody. During questioning, Amit revealed that he initially considered attacking Sandhya during her commute to school but abandoned the idea due to fear of being caught.

Crime Scene and Evidence

He then decided to carry out the attack inside the school premises. A senior police officer stated that Amit was so enraged that he continued to stab even after the knife bent. The weapon used in the murder has been seized, and efforts are ongoing to recover Amit's motorcycle and clothing.

CCTV Footage and Witness Accounts

The attack was captured on the school's CCTV cameras. It was reported that Amit threatened a staff member who attempted to intervene. Sandhya's husband, Vicky Gurjar, mentioned that she taught at a school in Sirohi village, where she first met Amit.

Family Background

Gurjar expressed that if the police had acted decisively on the earlier harassment complaint, Sandhya might still be alive today. The couple, who had a love marriage, hailed from different villages and had two children together. Police noted that Amit is the youngest of three brothers, with both siblings employed in different hospitals. During the investigation, it was discovered that Amit supported himself by raising buffaloes and selling milk.
