A horrifying incident unfolded in the upscale area of Kailash Hill, South Delhi, where the daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, aged 22, was brutally murdered by her former servant. The accused, Rahul Meena, 19, allegedly strangled her with a mobile phone charger cable after committing sexual assault. He had been dismissed from his job a month and a half ago due to financial misconduct. The police apprehended him at a hotel in Dwarka.

Investigations revealed that Rahul had been involved in online betting for an extended period, leading him into significant debt. As pressure to repay increased, tensions escalated, prompting complaints from neighbors to the officer.
His financial struggles also altered his behavior, leading to arguments with shopkeepers and a general sense of distress. Approximately six weeks ago, he was let go from his job, which sources suggest fueled his resentment and desire for revenge.
Exploiting Knowledge of the Family's Routine
The accused was well aware of the family's daily routine and security measures. He knew that the couple left for the gym around 6 AM and that the key for the domestic help was kept in the mailbox. Taking advantage of this knowledge, he entered the house on Wednesday morning. According to police reports, he attacked the sleeping young woman, assaulted her, and killed her when she resisted.
He remained inside the house for approximately 41 minutes. Before the incident, he had lingered in a nearby park, and as soon as the family members left, he entered the home. After the crime, he was recognized by a local man cleaning cars, but he managed to leave the area without raising suspicion.
The young woman was an engineering student from IIT Delhi and was preparing for the UPSC exams. She lived on the third floor of a building in Amar Colony, Kailash Hill, with her parents. On the morning of the incident, her parents had gone to the gym, leaving her alone at home. Upon their return, they found her unconscious on the floor and rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where she was declared dead.
Evidence of Struggle Found
Initial investigations indicated signs of a struggle on the victim's body, with severe injuries to her face and chest. Police believe the accused acted with extreme brutality, inflicting serious harm.
