Incident Overview

In a shocking incident in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, an elderly woman was shot dead on Wednesday afternoon around 3 PM in her home in the Deharwara area of the Tendua police jurisdiction. The tragic event unfolded in front of her 13-year-old granddaughter. The assailants, posing as guests delivering wedding invitations, knocked on the door. Upon opening it, one of the attackers touched her feet in a gesture of respect before fatally shooting her in the head.

The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Initial investigations suggest that the woman's step-sons may be involved, with local residents indicating that a land dispute could be the motive behind this heinous act. The community is currently gripped by fear following the incident, and police are actively investigating.

Details of the Attack

Reports indicate that three assailants executed the crime under the pretense of delivering a wedding card. After gaining entry, they approached the elderly woman, touched her feet, and then shot her in the head. Family members rushed her to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to police, the deceased, Ramsakhi Dhakad, was married to Lakshmi Narayan Dhakad about 35 years ago after his first wife's death. He had three sons and two daughters from his first marriage, while Ramsakhi brought her son Munesh from her previous marriage. Ramsakhi was unable to have more children with Lakshmi Narayan. Munesh currently resides in Indore with his family and had recently returned to the village for his mother's treatment.

Witness Account

Radhika Dhakad, the granddaughter, was present during the incident. She recounted that three young men arrived on a motorcycle, claiming to deliver a wedding invitation. When her grandmother opened the door, one of the attackers bowed down and touched her feet. The sudden sound of gunfire caused Radhika to scream as she witnessed her grandmother collapse.

After the shooting, the assailants escaped on their motorcycle. Radhika's mother arrived shortly after, only to find her mother-in-law lying in a pool of blood. Mahesh Dhakad, Ramsakhi's brother, suspects that the murder is linked to a land dispute. He mentioned that Lakshmi Narayan owned about 35 bighas of land, which was to be divided among his five children and Ramsakhi.

Family Dynamics and Allegations

Ramsakhi intended to transfer her share of the land to her son Munesh, and the process was underway. However, Lakshmi Narayan's sons, Shivraj and Ram Krishna, opposed this transfer. Allegations have surfaced that they conspired to murder Ramsakhi before the land transfer could occur.

Mahesh Dhakad expressed his sorrow over the situation, stating that Ramsakhi had raised her step-children as her own. He described the incident as tragic and shocking, noting that Lakshmi Narayan had recently passed away in Gwalior due to illness, with Ramsakhi and Shivram by his side.

Police Response

Tendua police station chief Neetu Singh Dhakad confirmed that a murder case has been registered against unidentified attackers. The police are actively searching for the suspects and conducting a thorough investigation. Given the sensitive nature of the case, further details cannot be disclosed at this time.
