Violent Incident in Bhopal
Late Sunday night in the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a minor argument escalated into a horrifying incident. A 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed, creating a tense atmosphere in the neighborhood. The victim has been identified as Vijay Mewada, a resident of Subhash Colony who operated a tea business in the Ashoka Garden and Kolar areas. Around 1:30 AM, he had closed his hotel and was heading to drop off his employees in Pragati Nagar.
Reports indicate that the main suspect, Asif alias Bomb, was present at the scene with his accomplices. It is believed that the suspects were already familiar with the victim's employees due to prior interactions. During the confrontation, the suspects pressured the employees to accompany them, but the employees declined, citing work commitments. This refusal heightened tensions, leading to inappropriate behavior from the suspects.
Attempt to Mediate Turns Fatal
Seeing the situation deteriorate, Vijay intervened in an attempt to calm the suspects. He addressed the main accused, saying, 'Come on, son...' This remark infuriated Asif, escalating the dispute. In a fit of rage, the suspect attacked Vijay with a sharp weapon, leaving him severely injured. Other accomplices also joined in the assault.
Suspects Flee the Scene
After the attack, all suspects fled, instilling fear in the community. Bystanders and employees rushed the injured Vijay to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. The news of the incident quickly spread, igniting outrage among local residents. Activists from Hindu organizations gathered in large numbers at the Ashoka Garden police station, demanding the arrest of the culprits.
Demands for Strict Action Against Suspects
During the protests, activists sat on the road and recited the Hanuman Chalisa. They called for stringent action against the offenders and demanded the use of bulldozers on the suspects' properties. In response to the escalating situation, additional police forces were deployed in the area. Authorities acted swiftly, apprehending two individuals involved in the incident, while the main suspect remains at large. Special teams have been formed to track him down, and a reward of ₹30,000 has been announced for information leading to his capture.
