A Shocking Confession

In a chilling revelation, a man confessed to murdering his wife after a tumultuous relationship. He stated, 'She began to interfere too much in my life. My family wanted me to marry again due to societal pressures. I never intended to kill her, but circumstances led me to strangle her.' This heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Chapra, Bihar, where a love story spanning 13 years ended tragically with a body hidden in a sack.

A Childhood Romance

The accused, Deepak, and the victim, Aaradhya, shared a bond that began in childhood. Their families lived in the same village, and their friendship blossomed into love during their summer vacations. Deepak, a diploma engineer working in Patna, and Aaradhya, a teacher in Chapra, faced challenges when Aaradhya's family arranged her marriage to someone else.

Defiance and Secret Marriage

In 2022, when Aaradhya's family attempted to marry her off, she rebelled, declaring her love for Deepak. Fearing societal backlash, she moved out and began living with Deepak in a rented apartment, where they maintained a live-in relationship for nearly three years. On March 13, after much deliberation, they secretly wed at a temple in Chapra, attended only by two of Deepak's close friends.

The Double Life

However, just 15 days post-marriage, Deepak's true colors emerged. While he played the role of a husband to Aaradhya, he was simultaneously preparing to marry another woman chosen by his father in Siwan. Aaradhya soon discovered Deepak's deceit and began to confront him, which he perceived as intrusive.

Failed Murder Attempts

Deepak admitted to plotting Aaradhya's murder starting April 1. His initial plan involved pushing her onto train tracks to make it appear as an accident. He invited her out under the pretense of a trip, but she fell ill and could not go, narrowly escaping death.

The Fatal Night

On April 12, Deepak took Aaradhya to his village, where his family rejected her. After a day filled with drama, Aaradhya went to sleep without dinner. Later that night, while she was deep in slumber, Deepak strangled her. He remained in the room with her body until around 3:30 AM, when he packed her remains in a sack and disposed of it 15 kilometers away.

Discovery and Arrest

On April 21, the day of Deepak's second wedding, Aaradhya's father grew suspicious of her disappearance. Upon visiting her rented home, he found it locked. A police complaint was filed on April 23. When interrogated, Deepak initially misled the police, claiming Aaradhya had left by train. However, faced with technical evidence, he confessed to the crime.

A Family Torn Apart

The most tragic aspect of this case is that Aaradhya's brother, Ranjit, is now the only family member left to cope with this devastating loss. Deepak is currently in custody, and the police have recovered Aaradhya's body for an autopsy. A love that endured for 13 years was tragically cut short by societal pressures and a few days of turmoil.
