Kathmandu: A tragic incident occurred on Mount Everest as two Indian climbers lost their lives during their descent from the summit, according to an official report released on Friday.
The climbers, Arun Kumar Tiwari and Sandeep Are, faced extreme exhaustion while descending and could not be rescued despite the dedicated efforts of their guides, stated Rishi Bhandari, the secretary general of the Expedition Operators Association of Nepal.
Reports indicate that Are reached the summit on Wednesday, while Tiwari followed on Thursday around 5:30 PM, as per Bhandari's comments.
The guides exerted tremendous effort to save them, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
Are was confirmed dead on Thursday, while the exact time of Tiwari's passing remains unclear.

On Wednesday, Are was among three Indian climbers who successfully summited the 8,848.86-meter peak, contributing to a record-breaking day with 274 climbers reaching the summit. The other climbers were Tulasi Reddi Palpunoori and Ajay Pal Singh Dhaliwal.
The following day, another Indian climber, Lakshmikanta Mandal, also achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the world's highest peak.
