Amaravati, June 19: In a devastating turn of events, seven individuals from two families, including five minors, lost their lives in Andhra Pradesh due to domestic issues, as reported by local authorities on Friday.

In one tragic incident, a father took the lives of his three daughters before ending his own life, while in another case, a mother and her two children jumped in front of a train. These incidents took place in the Prakasam and Srikakulam districts.

In Agraharam village, located in the Chimakurthy mandal of Prakasam, a man named Ekula Sudhakar, aged 35, poisoned his three young daughters—Gochita, 13, Pujita, 11, and Lokita, 8—before hanging himself. Sudhakar was reportedly distressed over his wife's absence, who had gone to her parents' home.

After the tragic deaths of his daughters, he went to a nearby field and took his own life by hanging. Authorities have since moved the bodies for post-mortem examinations and initiated an investigation into the case.

In a separate incident in Srikakulam, a woman named Puja, aged 28, along with her children, Kushant, 5, and Dikshitha, 3, committed suicide by stepping in front of a moving train. Their bodies were discovered on the railway tracks between Palasa and Talabadra after local residents alerted the railway police.

The police have transported the bodies to a nearby government hospital's mortuary and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Initial findings suggest that Puja may have taken this drastic step due to ongoing domestic issues, particularly conflicts with her husband.

Puja, originally from Bhavanapadu in Srikakulam, had married Venkataiah from Chalamayyapeta eight years ago. The family had been living in Vijayawada and had returned to Chalamayyapeta for the summer holidays. On Thursday morning, Puja left her home with her children, and they reportedly spent the night at Palasa railway station before the tragic incident occurred.

Witnesses indicated that Puja sat on the tracks with her children, holding them tightly as the train approached. Her mother has claimed that her daughter was driven to this act due to harassment from her in-laws.
