Leopard Attack in Amreli District

On Sunday morning, a leopard attacked and killed a five-year-old boy in the Amreli district of Gujarat, as reported by a forest department official.

The official indicated that efforts are underway to capture the leopard responsible for the attack, which occurred in the village of Gopalgram, near the town of Dhari. Three traps have been set up, and a team of forest officials is currently assessing the situation at the site.

According to Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Pratap Chandu, the incident took place around 9 AM when the child was following his mother. The leopard, which had been hiding in the fields, suddenly attacked and dragged the boy away.

The forest official noted that the child, identified as Sahil Katara, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a government hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

This tragic event follows a similar incident on November 28, when a one-year-old girl lost her life due to a leopard attack in the Dalakhania forest area.
