Violent Incident in Bhopal's Ashoka Garden

Late Sunday night, a trivial argument escalated into a horrifying incident in the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the murder of a 35-year-old man. The victim, identified as Vijay Mewada, was stabbed to death, creating a tense atmosphere in the locality.



According to police reports, Vijay was a resident of Subhash Colony and operated a tea business in the Ashoka Garden and Kolar areas. Around 1:30 AM, he had closed his hotel and was heading to drop off his employees in Pragati Nagar.


The main suspect, Asif alias Bomb, was present at the scene with his accomplices. It was revealed that the suspects were familiar with Vijay's employees due to prior interactions. During the confrontation, the accused pressured the employees to accompany them, but they declined, citing work commitments. This refusal led to a tense situation, prompting the suspects to behave aggressively.


A Simple Word Leads to Tragedy

In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, Vijay intervened and tried to calm the aggressors. He addressed the main suspect, saying, 'Go, son...' This remark infuriated Asif, leading to an escalation of the conflict. In a fit of rage, Asif attacked Vijay with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries. Other accomplices also joined in the assault.


Aftermath of the Attack

Following the attack, all suspects fled the scene, instilling fear in the community. Bystanders and employees rushed the injured Vijay to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. The news of the incident sparked outrage among local residents, prompting members of Hindu organizations to gather in large numbers at the Ashoka Garden police station, demanding the arrest of the culprits.


Protesters sat on the road, reciting Hanuman Chalisa, while calling for strict action against the offenders and the demolition of their properties. In response to the escalating situation, additional police forces were deployed in the area. Authorities acted swiftly, apprehending two suspects involved in the incident, while the main perpetrator remains at large. A reward of ₹30,000 has been announced for information leading to his capture.
