A woman, who had been starving for two days, requested a kilogram of flour from a neighbor. In response, her in-laws accused her of being immoral and subjected her to physical abuse. According to local residents, the woman, deeply affected by the beating, took a tragic step. The sight of her and her two children's mutilated bodies left the community in shock.

Background of the Victim

Marriage and Family Details
Minu (30), daughter of Angad Patel from Bhadiya village in the Jansa police jurisdiction, was married seven years ago to Vikas Patel from Harsos village. Minu had two sons, Vipul (4) and Viplav (6). Vikas worked in a private company in Surat. Minu's brother, Kamlesh, reported to the police that Vikas often harassed Minu over suspicions he had about her. He also failed to provide any financial support for Minu and their children, while other family members also mistreated her.

Allegations Against In-Laws

Incident Leading to the Tragedy
On Tuesday morning, Minu was beaten and thrown out of the house by her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law. Distressed, she filed a complaint at the Jansa police station. The police assured her of action and sent her back home. Upon her return, her in-laws locked her in her room and denied her entry into the house. When Minu informed her husband Vikas, he refused to help her.

Legal Action Taken

When Minu's family arrived after her call for help, they were verbally abused and chased away by her in-laws. The police have detained the mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law. Jansa police chief Durga Singh confirmed that a case has been filed based on the complaint, and the accused will be presented in court.

Could Police Intervention Have Prevented This?
Residents of Harsos village expressed that if the police had responded to Minu's complaint more effectively, the tragic outcome might have been avoided. They believe that had the police visited the scene or summoned the in-laws for a discussion, Minu and her innocent children might still be alive today.
