New Delhi/Dubai, May 9: A tragic incident occurred when a wooden dhow, carrying a crew of 18 Indian sailors, caught fire and capsized near the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the death of one sailor and injuries to four others.

A government source reported that the dhow, which was transporting general cargo, capsized after the fire broke out. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.


Fortunately, all crew members were rescued by a nearby vessel that responded to the emergency. The source confirmed that one sailor lost his life, while four others suffered burn injuries and are now receiving medical care in Dubai.
