Murder in Surajpur Park

On July 27, a shocking incident occurred in Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh, where a young man allegedly killed his 19-year-old girlfriend in a park due to suspicions of infidelity. The police reported this incident on Monday. According to an official, the tragic event took place around 8 PM on Sunday at Nehru Park, located within the Surajpur police jurisdiction.

The victim has been identified as Radhika Rajwade. She was at the park with her boyfriend, Ritesh Rajwade, aged 23, when a heated argument broke out between them. Initial investigations revealed that Ritesh suspected Radhika of communicating with another individual, which led to their confrontation.

In a fit of rage, the accused reportedly drew a knife and stabbed Radhika multiple times in the neck. Following the attack, he fled the scene on a motorcycle. Bystanders rushed the severely injured young woman to the district hospital, from where she was referred to Ambikapur Medical College.

Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries en route. After receiving the information, senior police officials arrived at the scene to conduct an inspection. The police reviewed CCTV footage from the park and surrounding areas, while several teams were formed to locate the suspect.

Within hours of the incident, law enforcement successfully apprehended Ritesh Rajwade in a forested area of the Pidha region. During preliminary questioning, he allegedly admitted to committing the crime out of jealousy regarding the victim's supposed relationship with another person. An official confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.
