Fatal Projectile Strike in Saudi Arabia


Dubai: Officials have confirmed that an Indian citizen was among two fatalities resulting from a projectile that landed in a residential area of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.


The military projectile impacted a residential compound in the al-Kharj Governorate, leading to the deaths of two individuals and injuring twelve others, according to the Saudi Civil Defence.


A spokesperson for the Civil Defence reported that the projectile hit a facility associated with a maintenance and cleaning company in Al-Kharj.


The tragic event resulted in the death of one Indian national and one Bangladeshi national, with twelve Bangladeshi residents sustaining injuries, as reported by Al-Arabiya news.


Authorities have yet to disclose the names of the deceased.


In addition to the loss of life, the strike caused significant material damage, the spokesperson noted.


The Civil Defence's official representative stated that they responded to the incident involving a military projectile that struck a residential site linked to a maintenance and cleaning firm in Al-Kharj Governorate, resulting in the deaths of individuals from Indian and Bangladeshi nationalities, along with injuries to twelve Bangladeshi residents and material destruction, as mentioned in a post on X.
