Shocking Domestic Abuse Case in Uttar Pradesh

A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a son-in-law reportedly took his own life due to severe mistreatment from his wife and mother-in-law. The situation escalated to such an extent that the victim felt suicide was his only escape. Following a complaint from the deceased's family, a case has been registered against three individuals, including his wife and mother-in-law.

According to police reports, a young man hanged himself in the Shyam Puri Colony. The victim's brother filed a complaint against his wife, mother-in-law, and an acquaintance at the local police station. The authorities have conducted a post-mortem examination and returned the body to the family.

Currently, the police are actively investigating the case. Reports indicate that Saurabh, a resident of Shyam Puri Colony, married Shalu from the Sahagajadyan locality on July 2, 2021. The couple has a four-year-old son. Saurabh's brother, Ravi Saini, alleged that prior to their marriage, Shalu had a connection with a man named Robin from the same area.

It is claimed that Shalu and her mother, Mamtesh, pressured Saurabh to pay five lakh rupees and sell property to support their lifestyle, which he resisted. The trio allegedly threatened him with false legal charges and harm to his life, isolating him from his family. Overwhelmed by continuous mental harassment and family strife, Saurabh ultimately chose to end his life.

Investigation Underway

Upon receiving the report, police took possession of the body for post-mortem. Late Friday night, Ravi Saini lodged a report against Shalu, her mother, and Robin at the local police station. SP City, Vyom Bindal, confirmed that the body has been handed over to the family after the post-mortem, and an investigation has commenced based on the brother's complaint against the three accused.
