Heartbreaking Loss in the Forests of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, has conveyed his profound sorrow regarding the tragic death of Forest Guard Prahlad Pradhan, announcing a financial aid of Rs 30 lakh for his bereaved family.

Reports indicate that Pradhan was fatally shot by poachers while on patrol in the Rajmohanpur forest area within the Hindol forest range early on Saturday.

In response to this grave incident, the Chief Minister has instructed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) to conduct a comprehensive investigation at the scene.

According to officials, the forest guard sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
